Drawing from my experience teaching Arabic, the Alif Baa Montessori app initially aimed to digitize the Montessori Movable Arabic Alphabet, integrating it into a digital platform. This vision evolved through user interviews, market research, and exploration of Montessori early learning techniques. The final app seamlessly incorporates three key Montessori tools tailored for Arabic learners: the Movable Alphabet, Vowels Board, and Read, Build, Write. The biggest challenges of this project were related to the need to combine Roman and non-Roman scripts. I learned that Arabic script requires more space than Latin script. Currently, I'm working towards building a financially sustainable app and have begun talks with developers. The desktop version has received positive feedback from my students, enabling ongoing refinement based on input from teachers, students and parents.
